My mom was a member of one of those book subscriptions and had a stack of unread Stephen King books I happily read at 10-11 yrs old. I loved being able to read adult books at that age, felt like being part of a special club

I desperately wanted one of those growing up, but my parents refused because it was a "gross boy's toy" 😭 looked like fun to me
