Anyway, sorry for the essay. I've been through the art struggles too and I just wanted to help a brother out. 🙂 Have a good break, man. ❤️ 16/16

Also, I feel like it makes you connect with the art you love even more, you're going through the same suffering as the original artist was! Lol. 15/16

You'll learn to decompose things into lines, you'll see structure and patterns you didn't see beforehand, so it's always going to be valuable. 14/16

Also, just to emphasize, re-drawing is not the same as tracing. Tracing is useless because you learn nothing from it, re-drawing stuff you like on the other hand, has you learning every second you draw. 13/16

Since you make comics, and I know you like Bleach, re-drawing Bleach panels in your sketchbook would be a great way to improve. And this extends to any other piece of art you like as well, of course. 12/16

Art is also an eternal, mental war with yourself and your desire to improve. And winning those mental battles with yourself is vitally important. The sketchbook will serve as evidence that you are indeed fighting the good fight. 11/16

And repeat. Repeat and repeat again and again and again and again. Fill up those pages as much as you can and are able. Eventually, you will see results. Literal, physical proof in your hands of your art improving. 10/16

And here's the second step: draw with references. Find art you like, and save it to your phone. Then position it next your sketchbook, and draw what you see. Your eyes will study what you see, and your hands will draw what you see. 9/16

Obviously, you can still post what you draw in there, but starting a drawing with the intention of posting it can put unnecessary pressure on you. You want to be as creatively liberated as possible as you draw. 8/16

What do you draw in this book? Literally whatever you want. You don't need to have pressure put on yourself to post everything you draw in there online. 7/16
