Early dog walk. Windchill -30F ish. I was only outside 12 minutes but my breath frosted my eyelashes, hair and hood. Very thankful I can walk my dogs without wearing glasses.

Working with my Tuesday evening teens tonight and actually created along with them. We did “word of the year” collages and my word this year is feral.
In my case I’m leaning on the definition that means to have escaped domestication.

Today a friend and I went to find Christmas trees. We wanted to go to the forest and got permits, but she had dental work two days ago and the temp got low for tree hunting.
We ended up at a friends tree farm and the temp got just above freezing. The warmth made a difference for sure.

Today was cake day. I talked to family, hung with hubby, texted people all over the place (including at 4am with my brother in Nepal) and had a quick phone call with a youth friend sitting at the airport in Detroit.

At this point it’s more surprising when the huskies *don’t* dart around us and escape for a half hour on the first bitter cold day of the season.

7: HEST mattresses stay soft at low temps and are warm. Using it in “futon” mode meant no cold coming in from cab side window/extra insulation.
8: Stayed toasty in zero degree bag with slumberjack quilt was great for all but very tips of toes.
9: I seriously love the MoonLander. ❤️

5: The 1” foam install job was worth it.

This is my husband with Mako and Lunatic. Mako is a good boy. He has 2.5 brain cells, a happy temperament, and learned to “sit” after 6 months of training. Lunatic can be a good girl, but she likes to love with her “teefs”. She knows lots of commands. She thinks I’m an idiot.
