A new painting from somewhat a different perspective of looking down on a subject. I was in California and watched this Snowy Egret walking on a sandy beach from a boardwalk above it. What caught me was the cast shadow on the beach.

Here is my newest painting of an immature Ruby-throated Hummingbird in a fall crop of Jewelweed. This is the fuel these bird use just before their fall migration.

Here is a transparent watercolor painting I finished last September. I observed a robin hunting in a field of dandolines, and it looked to me as if the bird was dancing among a field of bubbles!

Here is an older painting of the promise of spring, a Red-Winged Blackbird arriving at it's nesting wetland in March. This was painted in watercolor and gouache.
