I like to build things and sometimes post about DIY electronics and programming
When I work I use o1-preview for high level planning and validating ideas. I ask the same prompt to 3.5-sonnet to get different opinions.

When I'm ready with my idea I move to prototyping. This is where Claude really shines. It produces valid and working code, and it's fast.

Videos must be up to 60 seconds long, and I haven't figured that format out.

I'm still in the mood for some eInk, and good thing I have a backup. This is the LilyGO T5 4.7 Inch eInk/ePaper version. I have the old one, which isn't the S3, but it still works.

I've got this 2019 LilyGO T5 v2.8 with a 2.7" three color eInk, or as the manufacturer calls it ePaper, display. There's nothing special about it besides it spending over two years with a static black image.

Now the ink is completely stuck. I will try to fix that.

Good morning! Here's a picture of all the GOATs of modern computing. Rizzed out tech bros with a lot of swag and powerful aura.

Pay a tribute to these great minds by writing simple and portable software.

If you’re aiming for a career in IT, upgrading your skills is more than just an occasional task—it’s essential. What got you here won’t get you there.

Some suggest you learn Python, some suggest you try out React. However, it’s not what you learn, but that you learn.

I did it! I managed to add images and screens(think of them as views) to the ESP. lvgl is pretty good actually.

I had great success with the ESP32C3 1.28 inch round IPS LCD dev module!

29 characters horizontally by 26 characters vertically. ^ means partially visible character, . is fully visible.
I've spent the whole day on this thing. what will it become? 🤔 it's perfect for a gauge. Likes counter?

Today is my son's seventh birthday. He wanted a pair of headphones, so I bought two pairs. Why? Because my other 10 year old son took my headphones.
This is what being a father is like, all this effort just to get my stuff back.

cross posting is lame. and I do it too! it probably works, but it's annoying seeing the exact same content on both sites again and again. I'm curious to what value one site has to offer over the other

I'm really impressed with searchgpt. it's fast and it stood up to me when discussing hardware FPU in the BCM2835.

let's see if it can help me with this. it's an ESP32-C3-1U-1.28. it has a 240x240px IPS screen that now displays some factory demos with PNG images implemented in C

is it expected my custom handle can't be reached over HTTPS and is HTTP only? in 2024?

here's the log. https times out after a while, dunno what the default wget timeout is, http works fine

this is not to be expected @bsky.app ? how do I get https?

what could have been a zero-effort yap post became a pull request.

today I found out that arduino-language-server doesn't find ArduinoCLI configuration yaml on OS X. so I went ahead and fixed it.

haven't written any go in 8 years and it feels good

do I need to root my 5 year old Roborock S5 Max? probably not. do I want to do it just because I can? actually yes. it's running linux, which is interesting. I can get rid of xiaomi's cloud and hopefully get more life out of the vacuum.
