at the end of the day, every FF fanatic is going to offer a different opinion than another, and you'll only find what you like/don't like about each by experiencing them yourself regardless of other people's personal feelings about each individual entry

i don't really think it matters, but i think ones you shouldn't start with would be more helpful. personally i would not recommend II, III, VIII, XII, XIII, or XV to a new player and figure the rest are fine enough for a decent FF experience.

i can't speak for xbox but playstation is more or less the same. you'd think in this generation of hardware they could run their own store's application more efficiently but i guess not
