I think including shows in this was slightly flawed because the investment isn't as equivalent. I think reading a body of media is closer to the level of investment. Stuff like webcomics are what jumps to my mind foremost, but I really this mainly links to directly interactive media

I see this and I do agree, but I think there are a lot of instances where the experience of directly interfacing with the medium doesn't truly make the experience more meaningful. I just think the idea of sharing fandom needing direct interfacing with the thing shouldn't be the assumed method.

Like, if you do like a game that your friend is getting into, please share the experience that way, but I think oftentimes that can burn people out on stuff because unless they truly vibe with a thing, it's a lot of investment. Validate the idea of fandom tourism and just sampling them.
