I started an intermittent substack with my "leftover" thoughts.

First up: Electric Cars

Art: So, I bought an electric car.
Internet: Are you nuts?
Art: Yes, but that’s a separate issue from purchasing the car. This one is a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Long Range Preferred AWD.

I don't want to brag, but I voted early and got a free chocolate Easter egg. Did anyone else get any treats when they voted? I mean other than the treat of participating in the sweet, sweet joy of the democratic process.

The whole "soon there will be a golden age after these tariffs" mythology reminds me of those cults that keep waiting for judgement day or UFOs to pick them up.

They say you shouldn't go swimming 30 minutes after eating. You may not want to watch this movie for 30 minutes after eating, either. I laughed, I cringed, I found it entertaining.

This was fun and strange and wandered around and was maybe too long kind of like this sentence but I did laugh several times so that's something and that Twilight guy shines in this movie so you know your mileage may vary also I had layered buttered popcorn which helps but it helps everything always

I just want to let people know if I was being sworn in I would use The Lord of the Rings as my book. Also didn't Trump put a tariff on Champagne? And yet we put a Champagne in charge of finance.

I'm enough of a political nerd that this kind of stuff is as good as watching a hockey game. Well, not an Oilers game.

For those with Audible, my latest is up for pre-sale. Podium Entertainment has brought Brax (the dragon) to fiery life. Raphael Corkhill is so excellent.

...unwarranted and illegal tariffs or other economic threats are not such an absolute threat and are eventually more painful for the aggressor.
So I guess we have to become porcupines, too. Polite porcupines.
And we could learn a lot about fortitude from the Ukrainians while we're at it.

They did that by having a defence strategy called Total Defence. All sectors of the government and economy are involved in defence planning. Finland is not aggressive, but it curls into a steel-spiked porcupine when threatened and Russia hasn't dared to invade since WW2. ...
