January started with "Skulduggery Pleasant" by Derek Landy. It's the story of a 14 year old lass, Stephanie Edgley, who inherits her Uncle Gordon's estate. He was a famous writer of the weird, the macabre, and the downright odd.

Yesterday's 'Shut Up and Write' was good.
Last week, three brave souls ventured out after the storm. This week, we were a respectable five.
It feels good to have a little bit of space carved out each week to joint with other writers.

The writing process is fascinating. So far, for me, it involves coming up with an idea, researching the <beep> out of it, letting it sit in my brain for far too long, and almost giving up. Then sitting down, and writing the story in a notebook, with a gel pen.
