I think there are 2 equally likely possibilities: there was a gender at birth policy in place before the competition or they made one up after the competition. Whether she knew the policy or not seems important, but it's hard to know. I guess the policy is whatever they say it is.

Honestly, if I were showing up to any competition as a trans woman, I would have a copy of the trans policy saved to my phone. And if there is no trans policy, I would get them to put that in writing. But I'm not an athlete of any kind, so I'm not sure how these things usually go.

Oh my god, the "Official Strongman" site is such crap. I guess we can assume she got a policy email when she signed up? I can't find any trans policy anywhere on the site.

I'm trying to find evidence of what the trans policy was before the competition started. The only Strongman Corporation policy I can find allows trans women to compete with sufficiently low testosterone. Is there a publicly posted policy for this specific event that you know of?
