Good move. You'd also have had to share the stage with the likes of Gove and Cleverley celebrating the Best Newcomer to Cheap Racist Clickbait... awarded to Katie "go home", "culturally coherent" Lam.

Utterly appalling. Rewarding clickbait racism c/o The Spectator + Conservative Party.

The one positive is that showing us "who they really are" makes them even more backward + unelectable... the stupidity of Truss, with the hate of Tebbit and Powell.

They belong in dark chapters of history books.

Two CHEGD fungi species spotted today at Hampton Heath:
Our first "H" of the autumn... a very slimy #Hygrocybe conica (Blackening Waxcap), and a 2nd "E" #Entoloma species (Pinkgill).
2 of approx 15 CHEGD species recorded at this site.

I litter pick every weekend. It is extraordinarily cathartic and satisfying to see an area (no matter how small) transformed by adding a simple, easy and positive function to a half-an-hour walk in the fresh air.

I do it on my way to weekly 2 hour session restoring habitat - which is even better.

#banksy Apologies if this contravenes the original artist's or photographer's copyright.

As many others have said, it is the law that is the ass - not those required to implement it.

Here you are more than able to speak for yourselves. Try Nextdoor...
This, from yesterday morning

Thankfully, on this platform the LBGTQ+ community can speak for itself. Meanwhile, over on Nextdoor yesterday morning (where overt discrimination is sadly, pretty rife, and few put their heads above the parapet)...

Why do we allow plastics to be so ubiquitous?
If global agreements are sabotaged by Russian and Saudi oil-oligarchs, why don't the UK, EU, Australia and Canada lead from the front?
Start by phasing out single use plastics from the food and drink packaging which litters and pollutes our environment.

A memorable morning with Ian and John from London Amphibian and Reptile Group at #Hounslowheath.

I'll be representing @hamptonheath.bsky.social at this event in #HamptonHill
I'll be looking at how small positive actions locally can take control of a problem, and how normalising positive action incentivises positivity in others and in our environment.

"... but climate change doesn't really affect us much here in Europe..."

Europe's mean surface temperature in 2024 wasn't "just" the global mean of over 1.5°C above pre-industrial era... it was almost DOUBLE the global average at 2.92°C.

The alarm is ringing!

I was just on Twitter to try and download my data before my account there finally closed.

I thought I'd ask Grok if it thought Musk was a "fit and proper owner" for Twitter. Under Grok's own criteria, it doesn't.

🙄 And as I have already stated, climate change doesn't start fires, but it fuels the fires + fans the flames.
Even here, in cool-temperate London, we had 40°C temperatures in 2022 which started suburban wildfires: Unprecedented, + unthinkable in the UK, even 5 years before.

@metpolice
Criminals have cut down enforcement cameras in Hampton Hill.
These police cameras use ANPR to protect our community, by:
- Prosecuting red light jumpers
- Tracking criminals
- Helping traffic flow
- Keeping our air clean by policing LEZ and ULEZ
May the criminals get what they deserve.

We have these beauties in a local pond, on a golf course, Twickenham SW London. Found both times we were bottle-trapping for newts with LARG. Red List VU.
