I do silly/fun doodles, watch a lot of horror movies, and stuff like that. I've done random comic work, and even a cover I'm still proud of for one of the movies in the Zatoichi box set.
It's definitely a good thing, as A*I fills feeds, it's best to just do what makes you happy. My former art dealer set me up with a test thing years ago with a Writer/Artist, and it was like a week of Whiplash type emotional abuse. By the end of it, I didn't know who I was as an artist. Never again.

Man, it took me a long time to get to that point, and I feel like this year it is going to get weirder, lol. I was showing some of my sketchbook to Devin, and I think 90% is just jokes that make like .5% of people besides me laugh

I'm all for it, the barrier between Thanksgiving was breached last year, and this year so much disrespect was shown to my beloved Halloween by things such as Balsam Hill, and H*bby Lobby that it's all off. It's Halloween right now for me, and not just because Christmas music now gives me anxiety

I'll do it for grocery stores, because the savings have been big, but yeah, gas station doesn't seem worth it. The last time I went into a gas station for snacks was maybe like 2016?

This remains top-tier

I love those movies, I got them at Suncoast back in the day.

Did you flip a chair/table? Because if not, you should receive an award for your restraint.

That's good they are catching it early. For my dad, he had a kidney removed in 97, and things were fine for almost 30 years. So I know how frustrating it is for these things to pop back up. Just keep her spirits up, and that goes a long way. Take care as well.

I'm glad your results came back clear, but sorry to hear what your mom is going through. My dad went through various treatments, and it was tough to see him go through those. I'm hoping her treatment goes well, and isn't that rough

Yeah, last year I had a full on panic attack. So this is definitely a massive improvement...though I still have a lot I'm asking for in my birthday wishes, lol
November 5, 2025 at 3:12 PM
Haha, thank you! I wasn't fishing, but it's weird/horrible to have my birthday tied to elections now. As a kid, it didn't matter, but now it's like every birthday carries the added high-stakes nature of votes that can make our lives infinitely worse.

Largely, it's a better feeling than my birthday last year. Just bummed on some of our local measures. But man, some of it was hidden behind some horrible wording on the ballot. But I will take any wins at this point.

Yeah, I try my best to watch at least one new (to me) movie a day, but somehow the month flies by, and I don't get to do my yearly re-watches. You would think there would be enough time, but I have so many to watch.

Hahahahaha, yes!!!

The action, the power, everything is perfect about this! I like to draw beefy characters, and this is a primo beef boi, haha!

This is a masterpiece, Joe!!!

I feel like years of being a Brian Yuzna (if you haven't seen Society, it is a good pairing with this) fan has prepared me for this. Fargeat has to at least be aware of his films, and it's interesting that we are in a place where that can be celebrated on an artistic level.

I'll have to add it to my queue. I was finally able to watch Near Dark last year, after years of comical failed attempts with cable, and faulty dvds. Kathryn Bigelow is such an interesting director, and doesn't get nearly enough props.
