New #photogrammetry capture of Holy Trinity Church, Buckfast.

If you love gothic horror look into the backstory of this church. Ghost dogs, evil lords, the occult, multiple times "it went on fire", a cave system underneath and an inspiration for The Hound of the Baskervilles!

New #photogrammetry capture of Sanders Longhouse in Lettaford, Devon. Over 500 years old, a rare example of this style of shared accommodation for animals and humans.
Photos taken while staying as a guest with the Landmark Trust (www.landmarktrust.org.uk/properties/s...).

Do we still like cutaway pictures?
I've been experimenting with turning my scans into cross-sections.

New #photogrammetry capture of one of the oldest churches in England. St Peter on the Wall at Bradwell, Essex.

Partly built from reused Roman material, it sits within the location of a Roman fort looking out over the North Sea.

These are the 12204 camera positions used to create the model. Not every area could be photographed so they are duplicated in from other areas for the final model. This helps show the overall layout more fully.

I've hired a Leica BLK360 G2 lidar scanner for a week to learn. I want to see how it deals with plain white walls and ceilings.
Below shows a comparison of photogrammetry with and without adding in the lidar scan.
Would love to buy one but they are £20,000+ with very expensive software fees on top!

The very remote Old Bridge Of Minnoch in the Galloway Hills. Known locally as the Roman Bridge it's probably 17th Century.

I'm up Merrick in the Galloway Forest where the wild fires were last week. Still smells acrid.

In the Secrets of the Thames exhibition at London Museum Docklands is this large amphora fragment found by Guy Phillips on the foreshore in Central London.

I was kindly allowed to scan it while it was being looked after by @katesumnall.bsky.social and Stuart Wyatt.

I've visited the new Secrets of the Thames mudlarking exhibition at London Museum Docklands. It's really good and it has some of my 3D models in that you can interact with. Definitely worth a visit.
