Watched my second Haneke film. Very different from The Piano Teacher, which I thought was excellent, but there's a thread of isolation with pathological character traits leading to violence in both.
Benny's Video (1992) did not disappoint.

Excellent movie by Australian director Justin Kurzel. Difficult subject matter well handled, with terrific performances all around 📽

Ben Whishaw is fantastic in this. It's a stress laden and cathartic journey that begins with the final straws and ends in a poignant reckoning.

📽 Whether you're into Westerns or not, this is a solid film on all fronts: superb acting, great cinematography, brutal and compelling story. You don't have to reinvent the wheel, just offer up something that's expertly done - this is a good example of that.

Rewatched the first full-length movie from one of my favorite directors, PTA. The goods are here, minus some of the more dramatic camera tracking shots and music that Boogie Nights will later use to such delicious effect. Great movie.

I have a spider living in my bathroom. We have an agreement. She keeps small insects under control and I've let her spin a web in my window and hang out on the ceiling. Her name is Charlotte.

Last night's movie was terrific. I'm behind on my Altman, but McCabe & Mrs. Miller has got to be one of his best. Warren Beatty and Julie Christie give incredible performances. Altman creates a unique atmosphere through his style and choice of music. A different kind of western!

Best movie ending of all time?

This is definitely one of them for me.

"That’s the hardest part. Today, everything is different. There’s no action. I have to wait around like everyone else...I’m an average nobody. I get to live the rest of my life like a schnook.”
