The images are a far cry from the intensity of the experience, my obsession- to capture the feelings, to show the "face" of pure abject horror.
To know the abyss.

I can't do it justice, the terror....the suffocating air, thick and heavy...being engulfed in living shadow, as it takes the very breath out of my lungs....the coils of smoke, a simultaneously solid physical nothingness, wrapping around my neck...tightening...the pain..and strangely, a whisper...

The "intruders" still try their luck every so often. They are little threat or challenge now, and of even less interest. Their forms common, their violence predictable.
I haven't started on them, was waiting until the Entity no.3 is finished.

The Entity is still there. In my dreams, at the periphery. The "child" (who wants to "play"/torture) , the "woman" (who wants to kill/destroy), the "visitors" ( thankfully only once) have faded. As though "IT" is holding them back.

The physical cues I used to be able to use to feel the sleep paralysis episodes have changed/disappeared. I have no warning now to prepare, to know "when" to look so I can "see" it again. It's form has faded from memory, the pictures no help. I cannot make the third piece. Frustrating.

Everytime I try to draw/paint it again, something happens/interrupts me. For over a year now, I've tried to no avail.

Women were raped & forced to give birth on fear of torture/death/hell.
Those who spoke out were punished.
The Scolds Bridle was an implement used to torture women for using their voice.
This work stands as a reminder that those women's voices aren't lost.

A Brazilian folk saint named Escrava Anastacia ("Anastacia the female slave" died due to its use.
This peice stands as a testament to the women who spoke their mind and were brutally punished for it.
