Hanging pockets are an integral part of Swedish folk dress. Each parish in Dalarna county has developed their special styles of decor. The pocket is tied with a patterned incle woven ribbon or a metal hook. Also everyday practical tools would be suspended from the apron ties with ribbons.

A special gift for myself 🥰
Band knife by Kenneth Mattsols. The heavy brass blade is perfectly balanced and beautifully crafted. Our initials match, KM.

I finally found a smoothing stone in glass. Similar stones have been found in Viking graves together with decorated boards. They are primarily used for smoothing linen fabrics before the iron was invented. Seamstresses kept using them as for smoothing seams well into 20th century. Can’t wait to test

Exhibit together with Vävnätet Dalarna at #Stenhuset Gallery, Surahammar. This exhibition is inspired by our guild visit to Japan and many works are indigo dyed.
”In Between Sky & Sea”
For the blue scarves each member received a 5m white warp to dye and weave.
I contributed with wearable art.
