As a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, Viola Ford Fletcher bravely shared her story so that we’d never forget this painful part of our history. Michelle and I are grateful for her lifelong work to advance civil rights, and send our love to her family.

Democracy normally works better with a competent opposition. However, the Coalition has completely abandoned its values of small government, individual responsibility, and reward for effort in favour of racism, cultural wars and climate denial.

Our democracy is better without them.

I think the blue does something.
Might just get off the internet for a while. I’m back on the dexamethasone for obvious reasons and everything is giving me the shits. Apologies for that.

I love this.
Painted tonight, but it’s nowhere near done, so instead here’s a piece I did in 2024 called Frosty Twilight (16”x20” mixed media). I went through a whole birches phase and this was part of that series.

Anyhoooo….who’s ready for Monday?! I’m not! Lol #art #painting #mixedmedia #sundayscaries

More discussion....

Wow!

Nothing!
Feeling a bit nostalgic.

I give some points to Howard for gun control, and to Fraser on refugees.

But I think Sonia McMahon’s dress at the White House is the stand out memory.

What will you miss most about the Liberal Party?

Same in AUS. Aboriginal people are 3.8% of the population, yet 32-38% in prisons.
There was a rise in Lynchings in the 80's in the South!

I never realized til college....never lived South, but even a few years ago when went to New Orleans, the accepted discrimation still shocked me

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

This is true and we see the results of misinformation and misinformation. Some readers/viewers act as if all Murdoch 'news' is truth. Unbelievable!

A reminder for Aussies❗️
Sinclair owns majority of media in 🇺🇸.
Murdoch does the SAME THING HERE❗️
He owns 70%+ of papers, radio & tv in 🇦🇺 , which is why they ALL repeat the same ‘Murdoch news’ (aka propaganda).
Switch off Murdoch‼️

Same in AUS
In Canada, you needed written permission from an Indian agent to leave the rez even for a funeral or wedding. (Some elders that have had to do this are still alive today).

In the U.S., punishment for being off reservation could include a hanging.

Sake in AUS, 3%
Canadians stop telling Natives it happened a long time ago:
-50% of human trafficked victims in Canada are Native despite them making up only 5% of the population
-Thousands of Native women were forcibly sterilized against their will due to eugenics legislation in Canada

Same in AUS!
Stop telling your Native relatives that they sound “white” when they are just sounding educated. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Stop enforcing the idea that white people are the only educated people. Decolonize.
