Also, if it were up to me alone, I wouldn’t provide the Indian government a more favourable trade relationship in exchange for their ability to murder people at the place of worship I grew up going to.

I think that we can pursue a variety of national interests simultaneously. And that we shouldn’t feel particularly beholden or overwhelmed by the Indian government. After all, they also want things from us.

Totally agree that the provinces are largely at fault here. But the feds should be using some of the sticks at their disposal to whack provincial governments into compliance. And it’s not like the feds have a great track record for timely judicial appointments.

Sincerely not trying to be overly argumentative here, but what about the article was bad? I read through it, and it seemed very milquetoast to me. My sense is that people are mostly objecting to the headline, which they’re interpreting as being laudatory towards Kirk.
