hey, hi and hello! i hope y’all are having an amazing 2025, even if the world is a little rough at the moment! i just wanted to come on here for a little life update/psa. a lot of things have been irking me off for a while and i wanna be completely honest with you guys. i don’t wanna sugar coat my emotions and keep stuff under wraps like i did in 2024. so here’s what happened. during the early months of 2024 and later on in the year, i dealt with major relapses regarding disordered eating. i’m dead serious when i say this, i have been dealing with ARFID (avoidant food restrictive intake disorder) and anorexia nervosa in specific. i have been dealing with arfid for the greater part of a decade, and have always had an odd diet because of this. but my restriction habits in regards to a-n i’ve been dealing with since early 2024. i won’t go into specifics but i lost a significant amount of weight, lost any interest in food and was nearly at the point of death. no joke, i barely slept, mainly due to the fear that i would pass in my sleep. i had constant fainting spells, had my heart rate elevated to around 100 at resting, and lived on around 400 to 800 calories a day for a month. it was hell. now, during this time i openly shared these thoughts and emotions on my private account, which might have been triggering to some. to that, i apologize greatly and i hope to grow further from sharing such information without an open warning. that being said, i wanted to make it open that i deal with these impulses still. i’ve been recovering since december, and have been on a weight gain journey to make up for a lot of the weight i lost. but i’ve been subjected to a lot of jokes (most of which from friends) regarding my diet and my lack of eating. i cannot stop them from doing so of course, but i’d just like to say that a lot of these jokes can be triggering to me and could impact my recovery. i would love if it stopped, of course, but i’m only human and can only tell people to stop when possible. i’m sorry if this was just out of knowhere. but i want to be more open and honest throughout the new year. i don’t want to be a butt of a joke, i just wanna be myself. i love you guys. i wouldn’t have trusted you with this information otherwise. i’ll hopefully make more art soon. but i wanna focus on my mental health and recovery for now. -arsene
