Motorbike racing, Arsenal supporting, maker of films: sometimes found falling out of planes. 3 time IRONMAN & 22 Marathons (3:09 PB). I try every day to be as great as my dog things I am. In middle of 3rd degree (this time Law) - I get bored easily.
A joke of a fight - Paul had one plan & one plan only...... just keep running around the ring & stay as far away from AJ for as long as possible. AJ can't even regard this as a practice or training fight: he spent half the fight confused, just wondering when Paul was gonna start!

So......... they are NOT American then??? (Which was kinda the whole point of my post! 🤔)

The sooner we wean ourselves off our US obsession/dependence/sycophancy, the better: I'm done with them. As our Greenlander brothers and sisters now say: Make America Go Away!

I agree, 'Plastic Paddy' is an awful term. But I have tonnes of cousins born on the other side of the water & I just pretty much regard them as Irish too. Apart from the accents, there's zero difference - couldn't really imagine them as anything else. My American cousins though? Nah, pure 'Yanks'! 🤣

'Plastic Paddys' are grand (though I never use that term myself, maybe a rare bit of slagging!): sure they're only next door, they actually get what it means to be proper Irish, they can actually name the members of the Irish football squad & they don't slobber on about it eternally like the yanks.

'Irish Americans are 'feted' here in their 'ancestral homeland''? You're joking right? They're the most annoying shower of gobsh1tes you could meet, slobbering on about their Irishness when they've never been here before, have 1 Irish grand-parent they've never met & 'Cahhner McGregor' is a patriot!

Secondly, your graph doesn't mention synthetic fuels at all (why would I care about the cost of it, when the environment is the question here, & I also happen to be rich?), so again...... COMPARE SYNTHETIC FUELS to EV! Cost is only more expensive now, but so were batteries for decades. FACTS PLEASE!
March 20, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Well done on completely missing my point. Now while you're at it (as per my point), why don't you calculate total residual lifetime emissions from driving 1000 miles per year in your classic Jaguar or Porsche on synthetic fuels, compared to total emissions involved in converting said vehicle to EV?
March 20, 2025 at 9:13 PM
On top of that, the rapid advance of synthetic fuels is another reason why just keeping your old classic as is, is FAR better long term for the environment than converting it to EV with all the mining, processing, manufacture, transport, etc., etc., of motors/batteries/etc., necessary to convert.
March 20, 2025 at 6:53 PM
For the cost of most of these conversions, you could actually go buy an entire new EV instead (Dacia Spring - £15k, Fiat Grande Panda - £20k, new Renault 5 - £23k), then just keep your old classic for weekends & special days: far better in long run for environment than EV convert for occasional use.

Anything that hastens the demise of Tesla, is all good with me.

Not confirmed - still at 'considering other options' stage.
