I like science (quantum physics) and nice people.
Small paper w/ @lvanluijk.bsky.social and @stotti-alex.bsky.social: We revisit the amazing operator inequality by Lin et al. (arXiv:2211.13372), which implies strong sub-additivity of entropy and find that it's a special case of Connes' theory of spatial derivatives:

Warmest congratulations! It’s a great paper. Also nice that it seems we will be in the same volume 😀

In many-body systems in the thermodynamic limit, if the subsystems are infinite, these entanglement properties do not change if we change the subsystems in a finite manner or act with quantum channels on finite subsystems.

Hence, they classify the large-scale properties of entanglement. (8/n)

Von Neumann algebras come in different types I, II, and III and subtypes.
Over the last years we have shown that the subtypes are in 1-1 relation to operational entanglement properties, see also arxiv.org/abs/2409.17739 and this year's QIP talk: www.youtube.com/watch?v=U70p... (7/n)

Such a simple, but beautiful and profound effect.

If you consider points with fixed angular velocity on the plane instead of pendula you get the titlepage of my PhD thesis 🙂
