Yes, it's explicitly the investors. There's also a post by a journalist (?) on LinkedIn tagging them
July 14, 2023 at 9:52 PM
They also ✨closed✨ the original issue as fixed and suggested to move inprovements somewhere else
July 13, 2023 at 7:11 PM
Yes, but I'm referring to the fact that so far those PRs have been ignored by the dev team
July 13, 2023 at 7:05 PM
To make things even more worse, there are at least 3 PRs addressing the issue that are open for at least 3 hours
July 13, 2023 at 7:01 PM
Also there are currently 3 PRs (again) to address this particular issue by volunteers (again)
July 13, 2023 at 5:14 PM
Just to stop incorrect info from spreading: the issue wasn't with new accounts vs edits, it was about only checking for exact matches
July 13, 2023 at 5:09 PM
They only check the first part of the handle and only if it is on their domain. It's just a reservation system
July 13, 2023 at 4:23 PM
To add to PSA: there are some non-offensive reserved words on there that you can (and should) use for testing
July 13, 2023 at 4:19 PM
It's in typescript, and here's a partial improvement (I never knew typescript so it's not the most nice one)
July 13, 2023 at 4:07 PM
Because they claimed they fixed it
July 13, 2023 at 4:02 PM
Man, you're a PM (derogatory)
July 13, 2023 at 4:01 PM
See this
You haven't fixed anything, I can still include (hopefully harmless) word from your banned list in 2 ways, and the reason for that is that volunteers had to adapt a system that wasn't designed for that
July 13, 2023 at 3:44 PM
Nope, it only checks for exact match on the default domain
July 13, 2023 at 3:43 PM
This would be better, but still not ideal
Improve check for slurs by arriven · Pull Request #1324 · bluesky-social/atproto
Check for inclusion, not exact matching NOTE: only addresses fucks.bsky.social, not fuck.custom.domain

As they say, two things can be true at the same time
July 13, 2023 at 3:11 PM
Absolutely no blame to the author of the contribution, just in case
July 13, 2023 at 3:09 PM
Also this was kind of expected, they weren't even able to evaluate that volunteer contribution didn't address the problem at all before releasing the statement claiming that fix

Yup, this too
