I think aetherdrift is actually pretty tame when it comes to "gimmick" sets. Yes, there is a lot of racing art & puns/references but a lot of the set still invokes the more classic magic feeling. Even the racing themed cards don't feel like unset cards but an actual serious in univers take on racing

And a lot of the alternative frames and art styles were also amazing

Even though my favourite sets (visually) are the "traditional" fantasy magic sets, I love a lot of the things they explored. Avishkars Indian/steampunk, Kamigawas cyberpunk, Capennas 20. Mafia or duskmourns horror style were all awesome. And I am so hyped for the space theming of Edge of Eternities
