One fun part of my job is that I get to research and write about the animals on the covers, though of course it's always heartbreaking to discover how many of them are vulnerable or endangered, like this cute little wallaby.

As I watched, it flew a few houses down and then dropped into another neighbor’s yard. I walked over to see if I could get a closer look, and then it hopped up on the fence RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE. I still had my camera zoomed in from the earlier shots, so I got a pretty extreme closeup.

On today's #StetWalk (well, really just a walk over to the mailboxes to get the mail), I noticed a hawk on top of my neighbor’s roof. I got a picture, zoomed in to get a closer one, and then managed to get another as it flew a few houses down to another neighbor's yard.
