Tunic is like an onion, with so many layers that it can at times feel unending. It achieves an amazingly organic-feeling experience of puzzle-solving and discovery, and backs that up with even more hidden easter eggs. It was a joy to play for the first time and I want to watch others do the same.

Shadow of the Colossus will always be infinitely replayable. It is such a wander-core experience. The PS2's unique rendering qualities really help sell the atmosphere and all the small interactions and detailed spaces give the feeling that there is a bigger mystery behind it all. Remake also p good.

Armored Core VI: I played nearly every game in this series well before this was announced and nothing could have prepared me for how good Fires of Rubicon is, It does lack a few notable things from the older games but whether you are new to the franchise or not, it won't miss.

Spore, the actual gameplay loop kind of peters out at the end but I spent so much time in the creature editor alone just making all sorts of critters, joined a forum clan and hung out in chatrooms while we worked on in-game art pieces. The community had tons of contests and was very welcoming 😊

Total Annihilation, the first game I learned to play (EDUtainment aside) from my dad. It's a classic RTS with a huge scale-ceiling, so many of it's systems are elegant and open ended to allow for higher limits on modern hardware. I grew up on a modding forum for it that is still going strong today!
