She's the author of the book.It is pretty standard to refer to the author of the book by their surname in an article and it's clear to most readers which Winn they're referring to.

It's not gossip though. It's my sincere response to a well evidenced article. And as I said in my last message, I do. All the time. It is possible to be interested in more than one thing on social media.

Erm yes, I have been a peace activist for 35 years, run a monthly Women in Black vigil, was convicted of criminal damage at Downing Street Christmas before last & talk about it constantly on twitter/FB where I post daily. But I'm also a writer & I believe writers should tell the truth.

It's not hearsay when a journalist can evidence legal documents they have seen. It may be a good book but it's a lie and that's what people are upset about.

She and her husband took out a loan from his relative, but when that relative went bust, the debt was transferred and then they lost the house. So it is relevant because she said the book was true but that's a lie. Also her husband's miraculous recovery seems suspect.

I said legal documents not arguments. In the book she said they lost the house because of a business deal gone wrong and they couldn't get the right document to the court in time. The article has evidence she was arrested for theft, ran away, her lawyer offered to settle for dropped charges...

If you read the article there are legal documents that verify the allegations, and she then wrote a different story casting herself in the light of victim. I'm just shocked because I loved that book.

I feel a bit stupid now that I think about it. But when I read TSP, not knowing much about the condition, I did think it a bit strange, but that I have seen a couple of people surprisingly get better from serious illness, so put it down to that. I didn't even think of the ableist trope to my shame.
