As an adherent to traditional grammatical rules, I reject the New York Times decision and will therefore cancel our subscription. (Just kidding about the subscription but not about my attitude toward the grammatical issue.)

I'm now officially depressed by the erosion of grammar in America, especially from a source as reliable as the New York Times. The above post should read "Fewer than 10%..." and not "Less than 10%".
