My visits to Nazi Death Camps resume in November. I'll travel with two friends, Emily and Cliff, to visit Treblinka, Sobibor and the Warsaw Ghetto. Then Cliff and I will revisit Sachsenhausen and Bergen Belsen on the way back from Poland.

I am living in Panama until May 15, less than a mile from the canal. Now that Trump threatened to "Take back the Panama Canal" I will send updates on life as an American citizen here.

I recently re-read "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy. It is vast historical fiction, but with this reading I was much more aware of the irony in the way Tolstoy tells his story.
