Last night’s movie: Predator: Killer of Killers (2025) Excellent animated feature that furthers the lore (and our love) of the Predator franchise. 3 great tales of humans battling Predators throughout history. Highest recommendation to watch this! Can’t wait to rewatch it!

Last night’s movie: Freaky Tales (2024) 4 tales are part of an interwoven story similar to Pulp Fiction’s structure, only set in Oakland, California in 1987. Well acted, had a nod to Repo Man & even a fun surprise cameo. An enjoyable movie watching experience.

Last night’s movie: Extreme Prejudice (1987) Finally watching this after lots of recent recommendations. Would’ve loved this in 87, thus loved it in 25! Walter Hill directs an amazing cast filled with “that dude rules!” starting with Nick Nolte, Powers Boothe & Michael Ironside!

Last night’s 2nd movie: Absolute Power (1997) More Hackman I say! We’ve seen this previously, but probably not since 97 or 98. Solid thriller with a great cast. Eastwood produced, directed & starred as a jewel thief who witnesses the killing of a woman by Secret Service agents.

Last night’s movie: Hoosiers (1986) Continuing our Gene Hackman film fest with one of his most famous movies that we’ve never seen! Hackman plays a former college coach who get a 2nd chance with a small-town Indiana high school basketball team. Better late than never with this!

Last night’s movie: The Conversation (1974) With news of Gene Hackman’s death, we decided to rewatch this wonderful Francis Ford Coppola neo-noir mystery thriller. This is a Hackman movie that everyone should watch. Highly recommend this if you are a fan of his & thrillers.

Last night’s movie: Highlander 3 (1994) The Final Dimension aka The Sorcerer aka The Final Conflict! Framed as a direct sequel to the 1st movie. Connor travels to ancient Japan to learn, then battles Mario Van Peebles in modern NYC. Felt more like an extended episode of the tv series.

The movie Highlander 2 may be a mess, however its foreign posters are actually pretty good. Foreign posters usually are. Here’s the Spanish and German posters.
February 24, 2025 at 10:29 PM
Last night’s movie: Highlander 2: The Quickening (1991) 2nd time we’ve watched this (over 20 years ago), and it’s still an absolute mess of a movie! They’re not immortals, they’re… aliens? Or are they immortals? And why is Ramirez back? It feels as if there’s 3 movies here!
February 24, 2025 at 10:28 PM
Last night’s movie: Highlander (1986) You know the story & if you don’t you should watch immediately! Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod is an immortal! The time of the Gathering is almost upon us! Sean Connery is great, so is Clancy Brown as The Kurgan! There can be only one!
February 23, 2025 at 9:53 PM
Last night’s movie: Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) Haven’t watched this since theaters! Completely forgot about the 2nd half of it. The movie that elevated Angelina into a megastar with her sneers & tight fitting clothes. For an action film, it lacks excitement & emotion.
February 21, 2025 at 8:56 PM
While it didn’t live up to our comedic expectations, this alternative poster sure does!
February 13, 2025 at 9:42 PM
Last night’s movie: Volunteers (1985) Never seen, nor even heard of it! Tom Hanks is a spoiled rich Yale grad with a $28K gambling debt who escapes his bookie by joining a Peace Corps flight to Thailand. John Candy does his best as Tom Tuttle from Tacoma. Should’ve been funnier!
February 13, 2025 at 9:41 PM
Last night’s movie: The Last Starfighter (1984) Been years since watching this classic! Lance Guest is Alex Rogan whose arcade high score gets him recruited by an alien defense force to fight in an interstellar war! Robert Preston is so great as Centauri. This needs to be remade!
February 11, 2025 at 4:47 AM
Last night’s 2nd Nick Frost movie: Timestalker (2024) A woman falls in love with the wrong man & then gets reincarnated & falls in love with him over & over again throughout time. Artsy film with some funny concepts, but almost too absurd and then dragged a little. Worth a watch.
January 24, 2025 at 9:26 PM
Last night’s movie: Get Away (2024) Nick Frost leads his family on holiday to a remote island in Sweden to take part in an annual island tradition. The islanders don’t like outsiders, but things aren’t what they appear. Thought I guessed the twist, but then was really surprised.
January 24, 2025 at 9:26 PM
Last night’s movie: Gladiator II (2024) Completely unnecessary sequel. Laughable amount of times they just recycled lines of dialogue & plot from the vastly superior original. The monkey fx looked awful. Denzel played Denzel, and he was the best thing.
January 16, 2025 at 6:34 PM
Last night’s movie: Anora (2024) Tried to take our mind off these crazy fires with this crazy movie. Not gonna spoil anything, but this movie is great. There’s a point in the movie that it becomes absolutely hilarious. Highly recommend watching this!
January 10, 2025 at 3:53 AM
Last Night’s Movie: Out of Time (2003) Felt like a Denzel movie last night, chose this. Convinced we’d seen this before, but nope! Denzel’s a small town police chief who gets caught in a tangled web of love, deceit & missing drug money. Fun thriller. Feels like an Elmore Leonard wannabe.

1st of 2025: Nightbitch (2024) Watched a few nights ago. Amy Adams is wonderful here. We’re definitely not the target audience, but the wife certainly is. Knowing today’s moviegoers, I wonder if people were disappointed she only metaphorically turned into an animal instead of literally becoming one.
January 5, 2025 at 9:51 PM
2024’s Final Movie: Trading Places (1983) Our annual tradition of ending the year’s movie continues! The Dukes are back at it with their plan of ruining 2 lives for a buck! Life lesson learned: The best way you hurt rich people is by turning them into poor people! Merry New Year!
January 1, 2025 at 8:06 AM
Tonight’s 1st New Year’s Eve Movie: Money Train (1995) Wesley Snipes & Woody Harrelson are NYC transit cops who decide to rob the money train that carries all subway fares after their evil boss & real life murderer, Robert Blake, fires them. Jennifer Lopez’s 1st major role.
January 1, 2025 at 8:06 AM
Last night’s movie: Die Hard (1988) A proper Christmas Eve viewing! Season’s greetings from John McClane, Hans Gruber & the rest of the cast! Lost count how many times we’ve seen this & definitely watching it again next December! Yippee-ki-yay & #MerryChristmas  motherfuckas!
December 26, 2024 at 6:12 AM
Last night’s 2nd movie: Red One (2024) Better than I expected after the trailer, but still just formulaic, bland & destined to be forgotten. Good cast, but felt like they slept walked through most of it. Severely lacking in the Christmas Spirit Department. Kids will enjoy parts.
December 24, 2024 at 9:46 PM
Last night’s 1st movie: Home Alone (1990) The yearly tradition. Will forever laugh at Daniel Stern’s tarantula scream & Joe Pesci getting blowtorched & muttering. Really starting to believe John Candy’s Gus is the devil himself. Merry Christmas Eve ya filthy animals!
