The current restrictions on S106 are mad, in my village we desperately want to use the money on things that will benefit more of the community. Only so much ‘sport’ equipment we need.

I made a fabric one 30 years ago, still gets hung every year with a little treat in each pocket. I then made them for my son and daughter when they moved out, treats have been delivered to both this weekend.

Not all the ‘elderly’ need financial assistance.

Where do the extra passengers fit on the trains? Rail fare are too expensive, our rail network is not working well. The problem is complex and needs complex solutions and phenomenal amounts of investment. Soundbite answers help no one.

And when you understand that on most cases the system is driven by paperwork and carbon copies, with the high complexity of releases driven by multiple parts of the justice system combined with low pay, staff shortages and poor training/absent training it’s a wonder the number is not higher.

Sadly somehow I’m still surprised and saddened when I hear ‘him’ show a total absence of grace, dignity and manners. What a foul mouthed, bitter, self-obsessed, little man he is.

Woah! Of course getting the mark right is essential but that will make no difference to the quality of the next piece of work. Well structured feedback should = feed forward to the next piece of work. Writing style, structure, quality of research, accuracy of citations, clear analysis etc

Yes and please get off X.

Just messaged my MP to say just this.

Unbelievable, yet totally believable. No strategy at all for calling out appalling behaviour. By ignoring the vile attitudes of a few it is being normalised. And stop posting on X.

So very sorry.

Vile, offensive and beyond disgusting. I HATE this ‘paper’.

Ditto this, responsibility goes beyond education in ways that most members of the public have little comprehension, likewise, but to a much lesser extent the responsibilities and expectations of volunteer governors are significant.

I don’t think she’s proposing to stand - she is way more interested in finally getting into the Lords. But her defection makes a lot of news and sadly keeps the conversation on Reform.

Understood, I struggled thru as I believed I should show my daughter it was her choice what she did and my son what he had to do to support a possible future partner. There are no perfect solutions whether your mum or dad, work or stay at home; it’s just what compromise is right for you.

Exactly. Journalists & politicians please, please take note.
September 3, 2025 at 5:26 PM
This is what needs to happen in the UK, make him answer these questions instead of accepting the premise of the narrative he wishes to push. Let everyone see the charlatan and liar that he is. Please UK journalists and politicians take note.

Glad I’m past this stage, yes you are right it’s brutal but still so glad that my generation was able to pursue a career and have a family.

Fabulous, someone saying exactly what needs to be said, loud and clear.

Mercifully our cats just hijack our chairs, surprising us every time we pull out the chair to take a seat, they then look at us as if this has never happened before

Sadly in some cases no such thing as bad publicity..

Of course but many parents will do anything to help their children succeed. Pleased that my successful adult children avoided selective schooling of all types.

Not a big impact as there are few grammars these days, and chances are if the children were bright and there were in a grammar school catchment that’s where they would have gone anyway.
