The likes of Jamaica want to remove the King as head of state which I think is best for them. But they can still remain in the Commonwealth as a Republic just like India and South Africa has done.

NATO not so keen, I think we're better off tying our defense to the EU. Surprisingly I'd be open to joining the Commonwealth to get a United Ireland over the line. The Commonwealth is no longer an arm of the British Empire rather a club of post colonial countries (of which we are) plus the UK.
