Thanks! In the early solar system, gas and dust was orbiting our young Sun counter-clockwise, just as they do today. The planets accumulated this material as they grew, taking on both the material's mass and its momentum. The planets spin in the same direction as they orbit, as a result.

Really cool thanks, can I ask what is the reason why all planets rotate counter clockwise ? Even venus which is "upside down" rotate this way if you put it "rightside up" (rightside being the same as the other planets)
