A game developer at Chucklefish that worked on Starbound and Wargroove, and now is working on Witchbrook! Thanks for stopping by! He/Him.
I did wonder if this had your fingers in it! The sprite work looks fantastic.

Thanks for reading my nostalgic ramblings. If you made it this far, you're a real one!

I'm only a couple of years away from being 40, but I really hope I'll still be making games with Chucklefish in another 12 years. It's been such a fulfilling career that I didn't even know I wanted when I first started, but now it's hard to imagine doing anything else.

It really has made me empathetic to other developers who invest lots of time and effort into their own games, only to have them go largely unnoticed by the wider market. While we worked hard to make it the best game we could, we also got insanely lucky with Starbound finding the success it did.

It's surreal to think after all this time, Witchbrook is only my third game. I've gotten to give feedback or make the odd trailer for other games here and there, but two of the three games I've had the privilege of working on myself have been projects spanning half a decade each.

There's still plenty of work to do, but I'm really looking forward to being able to share the fruits of our team's labour. I think we've got something really special here and I'm hopeful when you folks are able to see it for yourself, you'll be able to plainly see why I feel that way.

We're at one of my favourite stages of the game creation process now, where all hard work begins to come together, coalescing all the previously isolated elements into an actual game, with a world to explore, gameplay systems, a progression loop to keep you tantalised, it's very exciting!

It's now approaching four years since my work on Wargroove wrapped up, and my time with Witchbrook began. It was basically at the tail end of pre-production when I joined the project, a few months later, we ended up pivoting the game's art direction into something more ambitious.
