The back/neck pain is because I was so mad and tense from step 3 onwards that I fucked up my back (which triggered the migraine, that I still have after 7 hours and 600mg ibuprofen)

I'll be honest, someone in my steam family bought Wednesday recently and that is why it's there. But thanks for the rec anyways, might give both a whirl.

Like at no point did I think anything was "wrong" with it other than the music cut in stage 3. It plays like R-Type, for someone whose R-Type experience consists of getting stuck for days in every stage 2 of every game.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. I would need to replay it in emulator to verify if I die stupidly in the same ways or if I can blame the port, though, lol. I do die stupidly in every r-type ever.
Someone said it's "90% there" and I don't disagree. It's a shame it's lacking a very important 10%

It is definitely quite hard at weird points and I thought that was just me sucking, like always, but now I am wondering if maybe it's the game going faster than it should have.

I love the original but didn't play it a lot because I suck at it and I didn't notice much of a difference. It plays just like I remember it playing in my emulator.
The one suspicious thing was the music jumping if you die after the checkpoint in stage 3, because it doesn't sync naturally.

Never got too far in the original (stage 3, tops) so I didn't realize there were issues, though.
