Cool! The motor patterning of a full singing mouse song (100 notes over 10 seconds) can be explained by a linear equation with 3 parameters!

Why is a good question. How do neural circuits produce these accelerating rhythms in diverse animals? convergent evolution?

Two singing mice during a vocal interaction. What is going on in their little brains as they listen, prepare, and respond back? We think it's similar to what is going on in yours during a conversation. We are studying the neural mechanisms underlying this behavior at a cellular and circuit level.
