I see someone replied to this and then blocked me before I could read or respond to their point. I’d like to read it as I am actively trying to be helpful here, and if they have information I don’t I’d like to see it.

The parks will fill pretty much every day regardless of whether people boycott them or not. There’s sadly more than enough people who don’t care about this to do that. I’d personally rather not let them fill with people buying plastic wands and novelty drinks that fund hate.

I fully understand and respect people balking at the idea of attending anywhere with a connection to her, but the nature of the parks having a limited attendance makes it a rare case of being able to actually block people from giving her money just by taking up a space.

If they’d chosen to build anywhere else in Europe they’d be contractually bound to include Potter, but by building inside the WB studio tours exclusivity radius they circumvent that.

It seems counterintuitive I know, but the more people that attend Universal parks whilst boycotting Potter merch, the less money she makes from it. The contracts are viewable online. They also chose to build their next park in the one place on the planet that they can’t use the Potter IP.

The theme parks are an unusual case. She doesn’t make money from ticket sales, only branded merchandise and food sold within the designated wizard areas. In theory if a Universal park sold out a day to people that refused to buy any of that, she’d make no money from that park on that day.
