The EU is less driven by personalities - and their mood swings, overall they would most likely prefer a negotiated agreement; but if they don't get one their response will be surgical.

Disturbing yes; but I doubt we'll have to wait long for a tale of how he was 'tempted by the devil', or somesuch. It's never 'if' with these types, it's always 'when'.
