I hope I’m not jinxing myself when I say at 4 months old Gus is not being the typical “trex” Doberman puppy people talk about…
This is him 87% of the time. The other 13% is eating, potty time, and working on some basic obedience/targeting work 😂

People ask how I would deal with having a “Velcro dog” breed like a Doberman…I just look at them and tell them I have Velcro thoroughbreds so I should be fine…they laugh but I am not joking 😂 they supervise EVERY little thing I do while I’m outside 👀

Ugh 😭 why are horses like that
Thankfully it stayed dry here for this shoeing cycle and I was able to treat it daily for the first few weeks. The vet said his X-rays showed the pocket of white line was gone!! He had to cut out a bit more hoof in that again spot but we got one back on!

Been on a bit of puppy overload the last couple weeks and only got to ride once last Sunday so hopefully now that Gus is learning to use the dog door and not having as many accidents inside I can get back to working this goob more regularly 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Now is as good of a time as any to introduce everyone to Gus 🥰
(mainly because he is supposed to be outside going potty right now but waking up from a 2 hour nap is hard and it’s much easier to just snuggle in my lap to sleep more while I sit outside in the grass 😂)

Randomly had a pheasant show up at my house? And I can’t catch him so he’s just hanging out eating my game bird food 🤷🏼♀️
Thinking it’s from the neighbor’s because they have a menagerie of birds 🙄 (in questionable, ramshackle coops but that’s a discussion for another day)

My farrier is awesome, he coordinated with a vet he knows to come to my next shoeing to get some X-rays real time and coordinate a game plan for shoeing going forward because Donte had a bit of an explosion of white line disease this cycle 😬
He literally called me and was like “don’t be mad” 😂

I don’t know how many other people have heard about this, but taxing credit unions would be dumb and just more thing that hurts the average person.

Definitely going to need to talk to my farrier. I don’t think it’s anything he’s done, just want to see if he has any suggestions. This is the 2nd-ish abscess this year and that is so strange for Donte

A few spots of tension but for his first ever schooling show where I asked him to actually do something and work through some of his stressors I’m so so happy!
He got many treats and walked out of the ring more confident 😃
