It needs to be programmed over ISP, which you can do with an ISP programmer or with another Arduino. So I programmed the micro to ISP mode and used it to program the mini. I really struggle with anything requiring programming of chips/boards and this was no exception

I ended up swapping this out with an Arduino mini but the placement was exactly the same. Through a lot of research and trial and error, I found that PSNee can't be programmed to an Arduino over USB
