EXACTLY. The amount of “write offs” that they get are insane and unfair. They pay a lower % of taxes proportionally in the end - yet have VAST resources for just living, meanwhile workers are struggling to pay for basics like food and childcare

Yeah that’s my thought too - most workers are NOT getting ANY tax breaks or breaks in general - we are getting squeezed and will not have money to buy goods and services from these billionaires and companies. I don’t understand how they don’t understand that squeezing workers will impact them

That is correct, the Republican Party did free the slaves. However, the Republican Party was also a progressive party at the time. My point is your statement only tells HALF the truth, half the story.

I did tell you. Read a history book. The parties realigned in the 1960s. Republicans were considered a progressive party prior to then. Political parties are more complex in terms of ideology than the simple party name of democrat and republican. Ideology is the most important metric.

I’m also not a democrat - again I am surprised you make these assumptions.

🧐 I have plenty of friends on all sides of the aisle. I think you’re making assumptions about someone whom you don’t even know. I read a lot of history - look into the great party switch - it started around the 1960s. The progressive republicans were a very liberal party pre 1960s.
