It's the same for "generics" in stores. A soup factory makes Tomato soup. Campbell's orders 10,000 units, but the factory produced 13,000 units with their raw materials. Wasted food=wasted profit so the last 3,000 units are sold to Aldi for a discount because the whole batch was paid for. Same soup.
