A year ago, I spent Mother's Day in the hospital with my youngest after she had emergency surgery at 3 am. What was supposed to be 4-5 days ended up being 30. So, to all my fellow moms of kids with chronic illnesses and disabilities, know that you are indeed heroes and I see you.
