Any flash writers proposing something for #awp26? I'm thinking of proposing something around teaching flash as the focus of a lit class. #flashfiction #flashlit

Way back in 2011 I bought @benloory.bsky.social's book at a little shop on Newbury St. and sat between the stacks to read it with my friends. Now I assign "The Pot" to my #flashfiction literature in under 1,000 words class and listen as they say it's one of their favorites we've read.

A long time ago in @kathyfish.bsky.social flash memoir intensive (a WONDERFUL workshop), this piece came pouring out of me all at once, and I'm so happy that it found a home in the amazing JMWW!

#flashfiction writers, what is the piece published in 2023 that you’re most proud of?

This piece went through many iterations before I landed on this version that @bendinggenres.bsky.social published last year.

When I first drafted this story in 2020, it sprawled across 4 pages of my notebook and had lines all over the place. Thanks to feedback from my writing community, it found the perfect home (with fewer lines) in @bendinggenres.bsky.social. I can't wait for you to read it!

If you want there to be F&SF fiction mags, we need to do something now, while Amazon is removing their support. Check out one mag's website today and support them, if you have the means. Or just RT this if you can't, because the situation is pretty dire.

Did you know that $0 of that goes to the authors of the article?

Just email us and we’ll be happy to send you a copy for free. We’re usually thrilled that anyone cares. 🧪🦑🦈
