Yes. If cows weren’t heat tolerant they wouldn’t be the ruminant of choice across some of the hottest parts of America, maintaining a BCS of 5+ while raising large calves and breeding back every year. Adaptation of domesticated species gets a bad rap for some good reasons but it’s also awesome

We’re west of there; I am not sure the exact geology of that spot in my photo but I think it’s basalt over a shale layer over a sandstone layer. But there are a lot of spots where sandstone and lava rack are near each other so 🤷🏼‍♀️
