Here’s what an academic balancing life, court, and career looks like.
The weight of these past months shows — but I’m grateful Austria gave me the opportunity to stand up for my rights. #AcademicRights

1/ This morning, I learned that the public link to my court ruling was taken down by @adobe.com, following a third-party report.
The reason? Alleged violation of privacy.

I presented “Corruption, Intimidation, and Whistleblowing,” a paper that feels especially close to my heart right now, at Bilkent University. I had great hosts and received great feedback! Thanks to Arda and Özlem for making my stay memorable :-)

Is this text AI-generated? Hint: it's a published Econ paper.

One day, I hope to reach thousands of reads per article, and seeing a couple of already hit that mark shows it’s possible. I’m grateful for everyone who’s reading, engaging, and making this happen 💪. #publicwriting #publicengagement

Super late to the party, I know. Bought this book more than 3 years ago and started reading it seriously only today. Great book. I highly recommend it! Also, book hoarding pays off eventually😊 #Superminds = #Humans + #Computers

It’s ok Spotify, you can call me erratic and eclectic, both are appropriate 😂

I really need an upgrade: 'Arieda V.0.5' – a version that makes fewer mistakes. 😅 Despite pestering my colleagues @gaborbekes.bsky.social and @koren.mk to teach me the why of GH releases, I forgot to make the final release replication package 🤦‍♀️. Can anyone relate, or am I in a league of my own here?

Being a third-country national stinks. All my payments today are for my UK visa application, a SIX month visa, and that's not even including the hours I already spent on the application and the biometrics appointment. #openborders #visasstink

My workation in the Canary Islands is almost over. Is cloudy today, but I'll have my after-work swim anyway, and I’ll pretend I’m working in the sunny version of the view from my room

#Stata vs #R vs #Python. Asked ChatGPT and Bard to create a scatterplot where the color depends on a third variable. The answer? The default answer is #Python 💪

How did we manage to work without AI before? The iterations with Bard, especially the fact that it accepts images, helped me think about a better way to convey my message. It didn't help with the code (it spat out bad Tikz code) but it gives itself credit where credit is actually due 😉 #AIHelp

Submitted an article to The Sun out of curiosity. Their rejection came in with: 'Writing is hard work, and writers merit some acknowledgment.' Surprisingly, it stings less than academic rejections. Is it the recognition of hard work that makes the difference? 🤔📚 #CuriousWriter #RecognitionMatters

We find ourselves labeled as an undesirable organization in both Hungary and Russia. Perhaps CEU is doing something right after all. I see this as a badge of honor if we stand committed to human rights, democracy, freedom of expression, or other principles that are at odds with autocratic regimes.
