I actually thought my mom made up that name! Every time he came up to bat, she and my sister and I would jump up and sing “do the Teufel shuffle.” You can get a good view of it at the end of this clip!

Easily one of my all time favorite players. He seemed like a really good guy despite getting into a few fights. I was at the game when he got hit by Dibble. It was my very first “base brawl” and boy did I love it!

Yes. Add onto that questions about umpire/referee calls. Some people often already - I think jokingly - say they’re shady when they get calls wrong. I hate that but now I’ll have to wonder if maybe those people are right.

One thing I did like about Piazza: He said it was dumb that a grown man would go by the nickname ”Chipper” so he referred to Chipper Jones by his first name, Larry. As a result, Mets fans serenaded Jones with calls of “Larry, Larry,” which was fun but Jones still kicked their butts at Shea.

I never liked him. I don’t know why - MAGA vibes, maybe, before that was even a thing. Excellent player but I don’t miss him.
