I also had a fully formed identity prior to modern social media, while also being habitually online. Nothing outside of the house and kids part is unique to Gen X.

Oh, sorry I used "normal" instead of saying "inured to the negative externalities of social media use," I figured the context was enough.
But yes, I do discount that "unique congruence" because it smells like bullshit. GenX is just as vulnerable to the brainrot as everyone else.

I don't know what the vaccine against social media brainrot is, but I don't think when you were born has anything to do with it. Seems silly to state "my generation was the last normal one!"
