Chewing on this thought a bit, I think surrealism often gets mischaracterised as weird or even incomprehensible. It’s not.
Surrealism is about drawing connections, creating metaphors, and looking at the world in a different way. Stop telling yourself you don’t understand. Just look. Just see.

I think the way to honour someone like David Lynch is not to strive for weird. That feels tangential. Instead, be you. Be unashamedly, resplendently, calamitously, magnificently you. And don't care what anyone might think or say about it.
If you do it right, people will call you weird anyway.
