I’ll admit, I like action movies. But after the trailers for Capt America: BNW, I’m annoyed. We need to tell new stories. We need new superheroes in new universes, and a fresh perspective on what it means to save the world. Who’s telling that story?

On another note I don’t think Beyoncé should’ve won country album of the year. Overall AOTY? Yes. But the other nominations for country album were impeccable, honest, deep and hopeful, and ultimately somewhat subversive as far as the genre goes. I think it’s okay if they’re sad they didn’t win.

Ya know I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s alright if I nap randomly and often right now. It’s taking an incredible amount of energy to just live and be awake right now. Of course I’m tired!

I can hear someone doing Duolingo (the lil chirp when they get something right) in another apartment or outside, and it’s things like this that give me hope. It feels so small, but it’s a reminder that our individual lives go on. That we can still have moments of normalcy.

It’s a heavy day. It feels like the day before a devastating hurricane, without the ability to board up windows and prepare for floods. There are no boards, there is no amount of waterproofing that we can do to truly assure we’ll be safe after tomorrow.
