Trump’s threat to send the military to Portland is illegal, dangerous, and authoritarian. Posse Comitatus prohibits military law enforcement on U.S. soil. This is a blatant power grab. If he doesn’t want to be called fascist, he should stop acting like one.

While I disagree with Elliot Forhan's choice of words, I appreciate his willingness to engage. I agree that violence—verbal threats or physical—is never the answer. We must confront harmful rhetoric with dialogue, not escalation.

Holding onto hope is hard in times like these. The attacks on marginalized communities—especially the trans community—hurt us all. But we must leave behind harmful bigotry and move forward with respect for our shared humanity. Change is possible, even if it’s a hard-fought journey. #Hope #Respect
